This is the third bakery-pastry shop in Cergy (Val-d'Oise) closed for breaches of hygiene rules. After the establishment Show gourmand, pinned in June, then La Grange à pain, it's business The Delights of Saint-Christophelocated 7, rue de Thérèse, which was forced to lower the curtain following a health check carried out on Thursday November 28, 2024 by agents of the Val-d'Oise Departmental Directorate for Population Protection (Ddpp 95).
Live cockroaches, moldy products
In their report, the inspectors report several infractions noted during their inspection: dirty premises and equipment, foodstuffs kept in inadequate conditions, whose use-by dates have passed and traceability is not ensured.
The Val-d'Oise prefecture specifies, moreover, that the presence of live cockroaches was observed in the pastry laboratory area. Concerning products unfit for consumption, a pot of totally moldy mascarpone was found in the cold room, as well as baker's yeast contaminated with moldy food residue. Finally, tuna sandwiches presented in the window were kept at an abnormally high temperature (8°C instead of 0/+ 2°C).
“Due to these shortcomings and due to the risk of contamination or development of micro-organisms and food poisoning, the establishment was closed,” specifies the Val-d’Oise prefecture.
The closure measure will be lifted as soon as the establishment meets current standards.
