The merchants' association bends over backwards to offer an immersion in the land of Christmas to all its visitors. “Before we only offered one weekend of entertainment, there were thousands of people, we could no longer move around, people didn't take full advantage of it. So this year, we are spreading the program over all weekends,” summarizes Ludovic Bertrand, president of the association.
A former candidate for The Voice this Friday
Also the festivities will not even wait until December since they will be launched on November 30 and they will reach their climax on Saturday December 7 with the now traditional Gospel concert evening with Fabienne Della-Monica, former candidate for The Voice season 3, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree and fireworks (9 euros per person).
A Christmas market and music
Saturday, November 30, the brass band of the Marsacoise Musical Union will take over the streets in the afternoon. The next day, singer Karline Bonnefoy will liven up the village. On December 6, 7 and 8, Mademoiselle Dentelle, seamstress, organizes her Christmas market. Exhibitors will take place in its showroom for three afternoons of sales. Karline will be back on Saturday December 7 and 14, afternoon. Sunday 8, it will be the turn of the Audacieuse de Lapte fanfare to stroll through the village. The Union Musical Marcoise brass band will return on Sunday December 15 and 22. For the last weekend before Christmas, the duo Cherry Lips will perform on Saturday.
A little sport while having fun
Christine and Philippe Vidal, former owners of Studio Fitness, in Brives-Charensac, will move to the village in less than a year. But for Christmas, they are going to put away their sports outfits, well maybe, to take out their elf outfits… Sportsman. They will offer breathtaking entertainment, literally, on December 14, 15, 21, 22, 23 and 24.
The meeting is at 3 p.m., in front of the decoration shop to solve eight puzzles in order to get your hands on the key to Santa's toy shed. There are rewards for the smartest elves. Same time, same days, same place, for a Christmas hike. An hour's walk to discover Saint-Geneys and its surroundings. Finally, the bear game will be played from 2 p.m., in front of the decoration shop. The principle is simple: count the number of bears hidden in the village. Every game day, a bear will be won by drawing lots.
A car to win
The traders' association has launched its big Christmas raffle with nothing less than a car up for grabs. A new Suzuki Swift hybrid, worth 18,990 euros. It is the result of a partnership with the Pierre Plantée garage, in Saint-Paulien. The icing on the cake for the winner: the registration document will be offered. Raffle tickets are sold at the single price of 10 euros. They can be found on the website of the organizing association or in the five participating businesses: Le Château du Maréchal Fayolle, Romain Bertrand Decoration and tea room, Mademoiselle Dentelle Créations, Les Cocottes; My Beautiful Countryside; Léa's Table. “There will be a bailiff for the draw which will be done in January,” recalls Ludovic Bertrand.
