This new increase is part of the transport financing protocol signed between IDFM and the State in September 2023. This text provides for moderate but regular increases in prices until 2031. It indicates that the increase for users must not exceed “l’inflation +1%”. Inflation for 2025 is forecast at 1.8%, which is why the price increase is set at 2.8% on January 1.
The increase in the community contribution is set at “inflation + 2%”. As such, the Region will pay 800 million euros next year, or 31 million euros more than in 2024.
January 1, 2025 will also mark the overhaul of ticket pricesannounced Valérie Pécresse in September. There will now only be two prices: 2.50 euros to take the metro, RER and Transilien and 2 euros for buses and trams.
