A whole year. The construction site to extend the line tram bus T4 will be relaunched at the beginning of December 2024 and will last throughout 2025, Caissargues, southeast of Nimes (Gard). It must last throughout the year 2025. The construction site will cost 8 million euros.


A line finally extended

The first segment of this new public transport route was inaugurated in 2019 and stopped until now at the entrance to the Euro 2000 activity zoneon the outskirts of the village. It is its extension until the big Chemin des Canals roundabout which will be able to start in the coming days.

In fact, the future traffic axis will make it possible to connect Caissargues has Daisies (Gard) passing through the hypercenter of Nimes (Gard), including the Arena and the SNCF station.

The construction will be carried out in several phases. Throughout the month of December 2024, studies and preparatory work are planned.

New routes

Infrastructure work will actually be launched on the road to Saint-Gillesfrom the beginning of January 2025. The development of a parking lot 80 places as well as a new station for future tram bus.

At the same time, new bus lanes will be created nearby.

“The arrangements will also make it possible to provide space for bicycles and pedestrians on this path. They will thus facilitate access to shops,” assures Jean-Marc Campello, elected metropolitan official for mobility, in a recent press release published by Nîmes Métropole.
