POLITICS – The atmosphere is electric this Thursday, November 28 in the National Assembly, on the occasion of the parliamentary niche of insoumise, which started with a bill aimed at repealing the pension reform adopted via 49-3 in 2023. While the presidential camp has adopted a strategy of obstruction aimed at preventing this text from being put to the vote, France Insoumise is calling for demonstrations to put pressure on the Macronist camp.

It was the president of the rebellious group in the Assembly, Mathilde Panot, who made the announcement in the hemicycle, while the debates were bogged down in the face of the (very) numerous amendments tabled by the Macronist camp to slow down the examination of the bill. “ Since the Macronists persist with the help of the government in creating an obstruction which goes against the sovereignty of the people, I call on all those who listen to us to come to Invalides to say that the national representation must be able to vote at least once on the question of repealing the pension reform », launched the leader of the LFI deputies as you can see in our video at the top of the article.

“Make the Macronists crack”

A call which was relayed from the benches of the Assembly by several of his rebellious colleagues, including Antoine Léaument. “ Make the Macronists crack up. They must withdraw their amendments. National sovereignty belongs to the people. Make yourself respected by MPs: get the vote », he tweeted, also inviting rebellious sympathizers to flood the mailboxes of Macronist deputies.

As a reminder, a parliamentary niche is a day where the initiative and the agenda are left to an opposition group. In addition to the repeal of the pension reform, France Insoumise had planned other texts, such as the establishment of the notion of consent in the law, the establishment of maximum remuneration in companies, the recognition of arduousness of the “feminized professions” or the freezing of energy prices. So many subjects risk falling by the wayside given the turn of the debates this Thursday, which could revolve around pension reform until the niche closes at midnight. It remains to be seen who, from Macronie or the left, will have the last word on the subject.
