With more than 4 million vehicles manufactured in its factories in Tangier and Casablanca (SOMACA) since 2005, Renault Group Morocco is celebrating a major milestone, confirming the rise of the Moroccan automobile industry. This performance is accompanied by two major industrial projects which mark a historic milestone for the Group and for the Kingdom.
The Tangier plant, Renault Group’s technological flagship, will stand out in 2024 with the production of the Dacia Jogger, including a hybrid version. This is a first in Morocco which highlights the country’s ambitions in terms of energy transition and sustainable mobility.
The Dacia Jogger, a versatile and internationally appreciated model, finds in this hybrid version a response to the growing needs for environmentally friendly vehicles. This strategic choice strengthens the competitiveness of the Tangier factory, already recognized for its ability to produce on a large scale while respecting strict environmental standards. The launch of this hybrid model positions Morocco among the regional leaders in green automotive innovation.

In Casablanca, the SOMACA factory hosts the production of the Renault Kardian, a new SUV which embodies the brand’s values: robustness, modern design and cutting-edge technology. This project, entrusted to SOMACA, underlines the central place of this factory in the Renault Group’s industrial strategy.
The Renault Kardian is intended to conquer several international markets, thus contributing to the influence of “Made in Morocco”. This launch illustrates the move upmarket of Moroccan factories and their ability to produce premium models adapted to the demands of global consumers.
With these advances, Morocco positions itself as Renault Group’s second producing country, representing 17% of global sales. These projects confirm not only the industrial attractiveness of the Kingdom, but also its ability to meet the challenges of the automobile of the future.
