Eco-friendly thrown out, here are the new MR, PS and Committed aldermen in Ixelles: Valérie Libert (MR-Open VLD) will be in charge of Mobility

The socialist Romain De Reusme will become the new mayor of Ixelles: environmentalists sent to the opposition

This Thursday, details of the municipal executive were revealed. Unsurprisingly, we find the three heads of the list there. Mayor Romain De Reusme (PS) will also be in charge of Housing. Gautier Calomne (MR), First Alderman (MR), will be in charge of Civil Status, Economy, Commerce as well as Education and Culture. Geoffroy Kensier (Les Engagés) will be responsible for Cleanliness and Green Spaces.

Messaoudi, Unal and Chegdani are back

On the socialist side, Nabil Messaoudi (PS) remains in college, with Youth, Sports and Social Cohesion in charge. Nevruz Unal (PS) also remains in his post, still with the responsibility for Neighborhood Contracts. Hassan Chegdani (PS) remains president of the CPAS.

No longer having an Eco mayor is “already a change”, the MR will have the aldermanship of mobility in Ixelles and promises a “less dogmatic approach”

Among the liberals, Nathalie Gilson (MR) will be Alderwoman for Finance and Jacques de Jonghe d’Ardoye (MR) for Seniors, Daycares, Employment and Development of Public Space. The emblematic competence of Mobility will be entrusted to Valérie Libert (MR-Open-VLD), also competent for Climate, Environment and Dutch-speaking Education.

Viviane Teitelbaum, chair of the board

The Committed will have a second seat at the college, with Julie de Groote, in charge of Town Planning and Heritage. Finally, the municipal council will be chaired by Viviane Teitelbaum (MR).

The policy guidance note is not yet completed. But guidelines have already been mentioned: “a non-increase in taxes that weigh on the residents of Ixelles and a trajectory to allow reductions with a view to strengthening their purchasing power”, “a structural reinforcement of security and public cleanliness” and “mobility which reconciles all users with an adaptation of the parking policy.”
