INFO France BLEU – The man arrested late Wednesday afternoon on the A13 is the alleged perpetrator of the Elbeuf fire

This is information from France Bleu Normandie: the criminal trail is favored after fire in a building Wednesday November 27, in Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime). The alleged perpetrator was arrested around 6 p.m. on the A13 motorwaynear Tourville-la-Rivière. This is the tenant of the apartment that burned.

It all started with the fire on rue Chennevière in Elbeuf. Emergency services were notified shortly before 3:30 p.m. When they arrive, the police seek to know if the tenant is still there, for security reasons.

Neighbors say they saw him leave, contacted him via text and said he is OK. The story could have ended there, but a little later, around 5 p.m., the gendarmes were alerted by motorists: a man wanders on foot on the tracks from the A13 motorway, armed with a knife. The A13 is therefore temporarily cut in the Paris-Caen direction, taking time to find the pedestrian who was arrested around 6 p.m.

This 34-year-old man then explained to the police thathe wanted to end his lifeafter setting fire to his apartment in Elbeuf. The gendarmes contacted the police, who made the link with the fire on rue Chennevière. The man arrested could not be taken into custody due to his state of health, he was hospitalized.
