Hit the pavement and be present on the ground. This is the strategy adopted by Working Force (FO) in Eure “to meet and get as close as possible to the employees of the TPE (very small businesses, Editor’s note),” says David Lecomte, general secretary of the FO unions in Eure.

These entities which have fewer than eleven employees are not really heard but represent 5 million employees in , including 45,000 in the department. “They deserve to be helped, listened to and represented,” adds the trade unionist.

45,000 employees in Eure

After Évreux, Bernay, Louviers, FO union representatives visited the market on Wednesday, November 20, in Eure, to meet employees they cannot meet within their company.

For more than three hours, David Lecomte and three of his friends distributed leaflets and engaged in conversation.

Objective: to convince these employees, sometimes from the shadows, to vote in the next elections which take place until December 9. And for good reason, during the last elections of 2021, only 5% of them participated.

“In view of the national situation, the austerity policies carried out against employees, the latter have more than ever rights which must be respected. They will need a free and independent union like FO, to carry their demands. »

Among the priorities of FO union representatives in Eure: the question of health at work and the wage gap observed between VSEs and large companies.

“On this last point, the figures speak for themselves: the net monthly salary is 2,090 euros on average in companies with fewer than eleven employees compared to 2,820 euros in those with 1,000 employees or more. »

How to vote?

The vote for the election of union representatives of VSE employees takes place until December 9. It is possible to vote online via election-tpe.travail.gouv.fr or by post by completing the ballot which will be sent in a green envelope to the mailboxes of the 45,000 TPE employees in the department.

“17% of employees are on the minimum wage at the national level, and there are 28% in VSEs,” concludes David Lecomte.
