As part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25, the association of rural mayors of Yvelines is mobilized.
On the occasion of this day, the Association of Rural Mayors of Yvelines (AMR 78) posted a video online of elected women and men, rural and urban, and is committed to the fight against domestic violence.
Inspired by the song Resist, of France Gall, the elected officials, as part of the “Elected rural relay of equality” (Erre) system, modified the words to give them new meaning: Resist, don't be on the list .
A program available in all municipalities
In 30 rural municipalities, out of the 102 members of the AMR78, elected equality representatives have been appointed, thus carrying out awareness-raising missions on the subject of violence, responsible for supporting victims towards appropriate structures. “In conjunction with law enforcement, associations, social services, State and Department services, they play an essential role in supporting victims of domestic violence,” explains Corinne Rostan, councilor of Mittainville and departmental referent Erre.
With Claire Cheret, mayor of Cernay-la-Ville, the two elected officials had the idea of raising awareness and “encouraging victims to open the doors of town halls, offices, offices, in order to help them escape this spiral infernal violence. They brought the project of this fight to video.
A first musical video will be released in May 2023, only with twenty-two elected women from the association, this time inspired by the song Heart, by Clara Luciani, entitled The Heart of Mayors is published on the platforms and generates nearly 4,000 views. For their part, male elected officials also took up this social issue by performing, in a video published on March 8, the music I’ll stand by you you film The Heart of Men directed by Marc Esposito, in 2003.
All these mobilizations are possible thanks to the help of the professionals of the Cabaret La Chouette in Cernay-la-Ville, in particular the artistic director of Tony Bastian, who allowed the AMR78, and all the elected officials gathered, to perform Resist, don't be on the list . The video posted Monday has 1,400 views. “A way of affirming our positioning and our desire to be committed partners and major players in the fight against this violence,” underline the mayors.
