What if the jazz tradition regained its rights on the Villeneuvoise stages. In any case, it was in Rémi Dugué's mind on the theater stage.
Last Saturday, at the G Leygues theater, in partnership with the Objectif image 47 association and the Oval Table, Rémi Dugué and his quintet presented their album, “Lumières” in front of an audience of friends and jazz enthusiasts but not only… Rémi Dugué wanted to pay tribute to certain Villeneuvois who “created a retrospective of the jazz festival in Villeneuve-sur-Lot” from November 12 to 29 at the cultural center. And the group composed of Bastien Ribot on violin, Rémi Bouissyère on double bass, Benjamin Naud on drums and Pascal Rollando on percussion, accompanies Rémi Dugué in his compositions.
He started with “Lumières”, the eponymous title of their CD. Between two pieces, Rémi explains his compositions. If jazz is omnipresent, other sounds such as rock, blues and flamenco color these compositions. Everyone takes real pleasure in discovering these creations sublimated by the quintet. Then from the top of the second balconies, a voice rises: Mathilde Limal, lyrical singer of one of the famous tunes of Carmen. Anaïs Bealu, well known in the world of tap dancing, comes to give a demonstration with the quintet.
Children and their parents are also invited by Rémi for the Occitan song, “Ce canto”. Loud applause and encores logically crown the work of the Rémi Dugué quintet.
