skiing in Avoriaz from this weekend of November 30

The station announces the partial opening of the Arare and Chavanette sectors with the Prodains cable car.

This is good news for those who can't wait to put on their skis and hit their first slopes of the season. The operating company of the Avoriaz mountain area, SERMA, was able to take advantage of recent snowfall to allow an early opening of the ski area this weekend of November 30 and December 1, 2024.

The current snow conditions allow the partial opening of the Arare and Chavanette sectors as well as the opening of the Prodains cable car to access the ski area.

On this occasion, the Avoriaz day pass will be available at the single price of €21 and an Avoriaz “weekend” pass at €40.

The shuttle service between Morzine and Les Prodains will not yet be operational but parking at the foot of the cable car will remain free. The official opening of the Avoriaz mountain area has been held until Friday December 13.

The Grands Montets area not yet ready in Chamonix

As impatience grew more and more in the Chamonix valley, the Mont-Blanc company confirmed this Wednesday, November 27 that “taking into account the weather conditions of the last few days (mild temperatures, rain, wind, light precipitation snow) and despite the work carried out on the ground, it will unfortunately not be possible to propose the partial opening of the Grands Montets area for this weekend.

The partial opening remains scheduled for the weekend of December 7 and 8, just like that of Flégère. In the middle of next week, the Mont-Blanc company will communicate details concerning the opening perimeter with the ski lifts and slopes concerned in each area.
