An Albanian driver was presented before the Narbonne judicial court this Monday, after several days of pre-trial detention. According to information from the online newspaper Actu.frthe man was arrested on November 21 on the A9 motorway, while he was traveling to Italy.
Indeed, it was during a dynamic check that customs officers from the Narbonne brigade (Aude) intercepted a Mercedes utility vehicle, on this major route between Spain and Narbonne. After a thorough check with the dog team, the police discovered 15 packages containing cocaine, hidden by old furniture.
More than 15 kg of cocaine found
The driver's drugs, who were alone in the vehicle, were well concealed in a transverse hiding place under the seats of the van. In total, 15,860 kg of cocaine were found in this Mercedes utility vehicle. Following the intervention of customs officers, the man was handed over to the Perpignan Anti-Narcotics Office, before his appearance.
