A ceremony took place on Monday November 25, 2024 at the Manège du Département des Deux-Sèvres in Niort to pay tribute to Lieutenant Olivier Pautrot, who died following an illness on Monday November 18. Lieutenant Pautrot chaired the Deux-Sèvres Departmental Union of Firefighters.
The event brought together many personalities including representatives of the authorities, colleagues, friends, family members and many firefighters. The ceremony was intended to be an opportunity to share a moment of contemplation and “gratitude towards a deeply committed man”.
Claire Paulic, president of the departmental fire and rescue service, welcomed a “true man” who had “was able to create a climate of trust within the Departmental Union”. The director of Sdis, Colonel Thibaut Niderlender, spoke of Olivier Pautrot's commitment to orphans of firefighters. “He was at the service of his territory and how much his territory was aware of it and returned it to him through the affection it had for it. »
