In the Drôme, the peaceful town of Montélimar is experiencing drug trafficking, with networks that continue to expand. The residents are exasperated.

Montélimar, in the Drôme, is a medium-sized town known for its nougat, generally far from serious crime and the headlines of the newspapers. However, drug trafficking is established in several neighborhoods, with increasingly organized networks.

Lookouts monitor the arrival of the police day and night, while transactions follow one another, like a smaller-scale copy of (Bouches-du-Rhône). A social housing district called the Plan is its symbol. Residents are seeing traffic take on unprecedented proportions near their homes. “Sometimes they take out the armchair and the chairs”testifies Commander Maillot, head of the Montélimar police station. Five neighborhoods, including the city center, are affected. To cope, the mayor strengthened video surveillance in his town.
