In partnership with the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne, the Noueilles media library invites you to a series of animations around the Occitan language and culturethis Saturday 1is December from 3 p.m. in the village.

Traditions campanaires, chant choral or even theater will notably be on the program of this “Occitan afternoon” organized in Lauragais under the name Échos des Pays d’Oc.

Rotating flight of church bells

The event will begin at 3:15 p.m. with the rotating flight of bells of Saint-Pierre church. A fairly rare sight, because there are hardly any churches equipped with bells that can still “rotate”.

“The typical sound of the rotating volley – a double beat very close together – is immediately recognizable and inevitably characterizes the celebration,” explains Jean-Marc EspitalierLagarde's carillonneur, specialist in these rotating volleys.

Polyphonic singing

This will be followed, at the church, by a polyphonic singing concert in Occitan given by Quarrya mixed Toulouse vocal group whose repertoire is oriented towards traditional Pyrenean polyphonic singingbut also the song to dance.

After a new “rotating volley” led by Daniel et Vivianthe village bell ringers, a snack break will be offered.

Theater in Occitan language

At 5 p.m., time for the show with a play by La Rampe TIO offered by the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council. Titled Lo Boçutit tells the story of a young hunchback who wanted to tour (on foot… not by bicycle!) to discover other countries and other people… Through the magical and mischievous adventures of this little hunchback , a lesson is emerging: difference, will and intelligence are the tools that lead to success, well beyond physical disability.

The actors juggle Occitan, French and music. They opted for a presentation in the style of fairground jugglers who once traveled aboard a caravan, transformed into a veritable chest of tricks. The journey to the witches' castle and the outcome promises an hour of pure enchantment.
