Trial of RN parliamentary assistants: The judgment will be rendered on March 31 with a risk of ineligibility for Marine Le Pen and Louis Aliot

The trial of the European parliamentary assistants of the FN (now RN) ended this Wednesday afternoon.

The trial for suspicion of fictitious employment of European parliamentary assistants from the National Rally and Marine Le Pen ended this Wednesday, and the court will deliver its judgment on March 31 at 10 a.m., the president announced before lifting the decision. audience.

Marine Le Pen, to whom the president gave the floor one last time like the 24 other defendants, did not wish to say any final words on the stand.

As a reminder, in this trial, the prosecution issued heavy indictments against the executives of the far-right party accused of having set up a system to embezzle European funds. Against Louis Aliot, the prosecutor requested 18 months in prison including 12 months suspended, a fine of 30,000 euros, and three years of ineligibility with provisional execution – that is to say with immediate application even in the event of call. He could thus lose his mandates at the head of the City and on the departmental council of Pyrénées-Orientales as soon as the judgment is rendered in early 2025.

Marine Le Pen faces five years in prison, three of which are suspended, a fine of 300,000 euros and five years of ineligibility with provisional execution.
