A milk producer for L'Ermitage singled out by the L214 association: an investigation opened within the group

Via shocking images, faithful to its usual way of proceeding, the L214 association published this Tuesday videos from, according to her, a farm in Haute-, in Leschères-sur-le-Blaiseron. In this film shot in October, activists denounce the confinement of 160 dairy cows, as well as unsuitable living conditions to the animal: beatings with sticks, dirty and slippery floors, no contact with the outside, unsanitary premises, untreated wounds, etc.

Open investigation

This operator, also mayor of the town, produces milk for the Ermitage Group, the famous cheese factory in Bulgnéville, in the Vosges plain, which floods supermarkets with its products. For the moment, Ermitage refuses to react to these documents, but confides that an investigation is open internally to shed light on these images. At the time of writing, the operator has not responded to our requests.

No acts of mistreatment according to the Prefecture

For its part, the Prefecture of Haute-Marne indicates to Bleu Sud Lorraine that it has “immediately requested the on-site intervention of the veterinary services of the departmental directorate of Employment, Labor, Solidarity and Population Protection of Haute-Marne” and specifies that **these controls “do not highlight acts of mistreatment.” The Prefecture adds that the breeding incriminated by the L214 association “is not unfavorably known to the veterinary services. No complaints relating to animal mistreatment have been received during the last five years. The farm is also subject to regular health monitoring by a health veterinarian. “
