THE works around the replacement of an imposing metal nozzle lead to the closing of the departmental road between the municipalities of Fermanville and Vicq-sur-Mer (Manche).
Depending on the weather conditions, the end of this intervention initiated by the Department is set for Friday December 20, 2024.
“This work consists of replacing a metallic hydraulic structure with a concrete frame bridge, while maintaining the continuity of the watercourse during the construction period through the installation of a temporary pipeline,” specifies the service of the Department of Manche which is carrying out this operation.
It was therefore decided to replace the structure which allows the crossing of the Tocqueboeuf watercourse at the RD116.
In question, a subsidence
The Department emphasizes that in parallel with the launch of a public contract for its replacement, a regular monitoring was put in place while awaiting the start of this work after the discovery, during May 2024, of a significant subsidence of the existing metal nozzle.
Interventions linked to this site require carrying out a road digging over a depth of several meters and a width of around twenty meters. This major construction site therefore requires the closure of the RD116 and the establishment of a DETOUR. Vehicles are invited to pass via Saint-Pierre-Église to go to Vicq-sur-Mer and certain portions of Fermanville.
This work involves modifications to the bus collection circuit. In Vicq-sur-Mer, the Le Bourg stop is postponed to that of Cosqueville-Vrasville and, in Fermanville, that of La Pièce-au-Duc is transferred to Fermanville-Mairie until December 20 inclusive.
