Monday, late in the afternoon, the Vaucluse department was the scene of two road accidents which occurred almost simultaneously in Pernes-les-Fontaines and Robion.
As indicated by our colleagues from ProvenceVaucluse firefighters quickly arrived at the scene of the two accidents to help the victims. There were four injuries, two of them serious.
Two violent accidents
The first accident took place in Pernes-les-Fontaines and involved two cars. Due to the violence of the impact, a 68-year-old man, found trapped in his vehicle, had to be airlifted to the North hospital center in Marseille in serious condition. A 52-year-old man was also injured and taken to Carpentras hospital.
Regarding the second accident, it took place in Robion and required the intervention of around ten firefighters after a car hit a tree. Seriously injured, a 40-year-old man was transported to the Cavaillon hospital center. A 9-year-old child was also in the car and was taken to the same hospital in a state of emergency. Finally, a third person was involved in an accident while trying to avoid the collision and ended up on the side of the road, but without being injured.
