€787,374: this is the amount of donations collected in Indre-et-Loire during the 2023 Telethon. A generosity welcomed by the French Association against Myopathies which works each year for medical research on neuromuscular genetic diseases.
Once again this year, several hundred events will be organized to promote the 2024 Telethon weekend, which will be held on November 29 and 30.
After Cinq-Mars-la-Pile and Langeais, it is the turn of La Ville-aux-Dames to be the ambassador city for the Indre-et-Loire Telethon. To support the AFM, nearly 300 events are organized in the 65 municipalities of the department.
For sure, that's a lot of choice. So, for you, we have put together our small selection of activities to do for this charity weekend.
1. Discover climbing in Amboise
It is a tradition with each new edition of the Telethon. The Mousquetons d'Amboise association is organizing its “La Grimpe du Téléthon” event this Friday, November 29.
From 7 p.m., at the Guynemer gymnasium, come and learn climbing in a friendly environment until 11:30 p.m. The workshop is accessible from 6 years old and you must come with clean shoes to take advantage of it.
For the less sporty, a refreshment bar will also be provided to offer you sandwiches, pancakes, cakes and various drinks. Besides that, children will be able to enjoy various wooden games.
Finally, a workshop will be set up for you to try foot reflexology.
2. A 100% video game afternoon in Montlouis-sur-Loire
Meet on Saturday, November 30 at the CSC La Passerelle Multipurpose Room in Montlouis-sur-Loire for the “6 Hours of Video Games” event. Organized by young people from CLAS (Local School Support Contract), this fun afternoon will be an opportunity to have fun with family or friends and even compete.
Indeed, two tournaments are organized: one at 3 p.m. on the fighting video game Smash Bros and another at 5 p.m. on the famous game Mario Kart.
The afternoon will also be an opportunity to learn new things. From 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., you can try to take your first steps in coding with an introduction to Scratch software.
A raffle will also be organized for the benefit of the Telethon. For a participation of 5 euros you can try to win one of the 6 prizes available. Admission to the event is free. More information on the CSC La Passerelle website.
3. Put your head underwater for the Telethon in Loches
We have a busy schedule for the Telethon weekend at the Naturéo Aquatic Park in Loches. On Saturday November 30, different aquatic activities will be offered to you between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Club Subaquatique Lochois also offers you the chance to try diving from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can, during its activities, make a donation of a free amount for the Telethon. To register, you can go to parc-natureo.fr or call 02 47 91 34 55.
This Saturday will be especially marked by “the 24 hours of swimming”! The principle: go as far as possible as a team in favor of research. Several formats are available: 6, 12 or 24 hours. Departure scheduled for 1 p.m. To register, you must go directly to the Naturéo reception. Include a registration fee of €10 or €15 if you wish to participate in the buffet organized on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Even if you don't have a team, you can contribute to the collective effort by coming during opening hours to have the distance you want covered.
Finally, in addition to these activities, a raffle will be organized to allow you to win different prizes.
4. Everything you need to know about European martial arts in Amboise
The association of Sabreurs Turons d'Amboise will meet you this Saturday at the Francis Poulenc room for a presentation of European Historical Martial Arts (AMHE). From 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., you will learn things.
On the program for this afternoon, we will find combat relays with different weapons such as the medieval long sword, the sickle or even the sabre. We will also be treated to a quick explanation of the time and origin of each weapon.
In addition to this, an elimination competition will be organized to elect “the king of the mountain”, in reference to the type of event of the same name where the winner takes the crown.
And finally, we can learn about the combat cane, a combat sport using a wooden, conical and blunt weapon.
5. Pedal for the Telethon in Château-la-Vallière
Here is a rather original release! For Saturday November 30, the Cyclorail 37 association invites you to cycle on the rails of the old Paris-Bordeaux railway line. On the program: a 3.8 kilometer round trip on a cyclorail or velorail for 2 to 4 people. Meeting point planned on rue des Planteurs in Château-la-Vallière.

Several events are planned for this afternoon such as a motorcycle exhibition stand in the presence of world endurance motorcycle champion Florian Joubert or even retro side car baptisms. You can discover the entire event program on the CMPN Facebook.
