: An animalist accuses a louveterie lieutenant of being responsible for the death of her horse

Night shooting authorized by the prefecture to regulate wild boars

On Tuesday, November 5, in the evening, a lieutenant from the department carried out a mission to regulate wild boar populations in the commune of Maisons-Laffitte. This mission was carried out under cover of an order from the prefectural services and came in response to the incursions of swine in various sectors of the municipality where numerous damages are regularly observed. During this mission, the wolf scout, accompanied by two other hunters, shot a wild boar in a small wood adjoining the property of Isabelle Dreyfus, horse owner and member of the eco-animal association Futur. It should be noted that the woods where the shooter was stationed was more than 150 meters from the woman's home and that a rifle equipped with a sound moderator had been used.

Unexplained death of a 26-year-old horse

A few minutes after the shooting, Madame Dreyfus left her home and came into contact with the hunters. The 3 nimrods were quickly vilified by the lady who made no secret of her aversion to hunting. The wild boar being shot having missed, the wolf scout and his comrades then left the place, passing near the boxes where the owner's horses were sleeping and pointed out to the lady that one of them did not seem at best with including significant sweating. Indeed, the next morning, this 26-year-old horse was found dead in his stall. Isabelle Dreyfus then launched the legal and media machine on the wolf scout

The wolf scout sued

Isabelle Dreyfus thus filed a complaint with the support of the infamous One Voice association against the lieutenant of the louveterie for “unintentional harm to the life of an animal” and “endangering the lives of others”. This legal action is obviously supported by a solid disinformation maneuver on social networks and in the regional press where the lady explains that it was the wolf scout's shooting which caused the death of her horse from stress. She talks about denotation making her walls “shake” (with a sound moderator? Well, let’s see!) and expresses her refusal of any regulation by hunting in “urban environments”. His friends from One Voice who have seized the story are not going to take it easy: “The regulation of wild boars leads to this kind of abuse, with people not always well trained, authorized to fire weapons of war . These practices are ineffective, cruel and dangerous. If we let the wolves come, they would do it much better.”

A defamation complaint against the horse's owner

Obviously the accused wolf scout disputes any link between his shooting and the death of the horse and has decided to defend himself. The man scrupulously recounted the events of that evening in his report and decided to file a complaint for defamation against Madame Dreyfus. He is notably supported by the mayor of the town Mr. Jacques Myard who recently declared to our colleagues from ACTU 78 who questioned him on the subject: “The horse was not injured by the lieutenant of the louveterie who is someone 'an experienced one. Was he afraid? It's possible, but then again, he wasn't hit by a bullet. Wild boars have invaded Maisons-Laffitte. They cause damage to properties and public spaces. We have already seen them in the city center. We must act and put an end to their proliferation because it is becoming problematic. »
