The Ziegler France group, which has a branch in Narbonne, needed space to satisfy, in terms of logistics, one of its major clients: the Bayer group. Hence its installation, a month and a half ago, in Lézignan, in the Caumont II area, just next to Narbonne accessories, in a 6,000 m2 warehouse.
Narbonne lacks land for the installation of new companies: this observation, regularly made by actors in the local economic and political world, is verified again with the installation, a month and a half ago, of Ziegler France. A group that qualifies as a “major player in freight transport, logistics and customs” and which has just set up in the Caumont II area, in a warehouse adjacent to that of Narbonne accessory. Mylène Béard, marketing and communications manager, explains the reasons for this decision: “We have an antenna in Narbonne sitting on 800 m². Right next door, we sublet 3,700 m² in the industrial zone of Plaisance but we needed space to meet the satisfaction of one of our clients, in “In this case, the Bayer group, a global player in the life sciences and agriculture sector.”
With this installation, Lézignan is enriched with a new logistics base after the arrival, in recent years, of companies such as Narbonne accessories, Alliantz, Passion cold, or Pantoja…
An ultramodern site
For the needs of the Bayer group, the warehouse has been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to achieve “optimal storage conditions”. Mylène Béard specifies: “This ultra-modern site is designed specifically to meet the needs of seed storage, with a rigorously controlled environment to preserve product quality. Infrastructure includes: temperature control of 10 to 12°C (positive cold), guaranteeing an environment stable for seed conservation; precise management of humidity between 55% and 65%, ensuring optimal humidity control to preserve product quality; facilitating logistics flows and enabling rapid and efficient loading and unloading.
This new site has a capacity to accommodate 5,000 big bags and manages more than 300 daily movements with the transit of 10 to 15 semi-trailers each day on this platform: “This installation demonstrates its efficiency and its ability to respond to sustained activity. The center also ensures the daily management of 500 to 1,000 product references, with rigorous quality control guaranteeing the safety and integrity of the goods”Mylène Béard still insists.
