Who will be (re)elected as president of the Hérault Departmental Rugby Committee ? The outgoing president, Didier Ceysson finds his dissident on his way David Bortmember of the board of directors and essential link in the Hérault oval.

In fact, the presidency failed to check the number of licensees of the Hérault Departmental Rugby Committee which, during the 2000-2024 mandate which is ending, lost more than a thousand licensees. The lists of the two candidates, that of the outgoing president Didier Ceysson and that of his opponent, David Bort being out of the game, because it was ultimately necessary 18 names instead of 22 wrongly mentioned: they were therefore logically invalidated by the control commission which reports to the official election monitoring committee.

The two candidates had until November 20 to propose their list of 18 names, allowing the election to proceed normally in the coming weeks. Second incident in the form of a twist: Daniel Bort's list was invalidated a second time, on the grounds that the status of four leaders mentioned does not comply with the regulations, according to the control commission.

Election on December 14

This Monday, November 25, David Bort was unable to submit his rebutted list, because five days outside the closing deadline -, but does not give up, in the face of what he considers to be “a denial of democracy”. This Tuesday afternoon, he will go to the headquarters of the Hérault Departmental Rugby Committee accompanied by a bailiff so that his list is finally officially recorded for the election of the new management team scheduled for next Saturday, December 14.

Justice seized

David Bort announces the color: “In the event of refusal, I have instructed my lawyer to submit an urgent referral to the Montpellier administrative court on Wednesday, with all the supporting documents in dispute.” On December 14, will the outgoing president return to his seat? Or will there ultimately be two lists present for the clubs to choose between Didier Ceysson and David Bort? Unless the administrative judge sends the two teams to the locker room by canceling the election!
