As indicated by “L'Equipe”, the New Zealand federation proposed to its French counterpart to relocate one of these three matches to the United States. A discussion which has not yet come to fruition.
“This is a request from the Blacks: we are awaiting the details of their proposal,” Florian Grill, the president of the FFR, confirmed to “Sud Ouest”. The hypothesis obviously raises important logistical questions. Sportingly, the French management is not in favor of it. But arguments in favor of such a scenario exist.

“In view of the 2031 World Cup in the USA, this could make sense,” concedes Florian Grill. The FFR has not yet formulated its response. It will obviously depend on financial considerations: the additional expenses generated by this project would be covered by the New Zealand federation.
