Grandvilliers: more and more awareness but still so much violence against women

Monday, November 25, on the international day for the elimination of violence against women, the social center, with the high school and Pas une plus, raised awareness among passers-by in Grandvilliers.

For several years, the rural social center (CSR), in partnership with the association Pas une de plus created “by women for women“, and the girl/boy equality ambassadors from the Jules Verne high school, are holding a stand on Place Barbier on the occasion of the international day for the elimination of violence against women.

This Monday, November 25, the 15 high school ambassadors, including 4 boys, guided the middle school students and passers-by who came to visit the different information panels on the stand. Enough to discuss street harassment, domestic violence, available help, the Mazan rape affair which is shaking up the news, or even answer a questionnaire on violence.

On one of the panels, the names and ages of 122 victims of femicide between January 1 and November 24, 2024 were written. A way of realizing the scale of the phenomenon, which is not slowing down.

The social center also offered the screening of the film Female Pleasure in partnership with Ciné Rural in the village hall in the afternoon.
