A first time in January, a second in July, and this Monday, November 25, 2024. For the third time of the year, the thirty-year-old appeared before the Châteauroux court for multiple traffic offenses. On Thursday November 21, 2024, he was arrested while trying to avoid a gendarmerie check. The man was immediately placed in a sobering up cell.

The driver tested positive for cocaine, “it was crack”he specifies during the hearing. Positive for cannabis, which he says he mistook for CBD, and with an alcohol level of 0.57 g per liter of blood, the result of vodka and beers consumed during the night, he says again. “I caught a wild boar on the way home, I wasn't feeling well. That’s why I used that night.”he explains to the judges.
His treatment path is disjointed, insufficient to combat dependence. He was also driving without a valid driver's license. “I didn't knowassures the defendant, I just got it. For me, I was in order. » He was banned from driving for six months following his conviction in July.
One year closed
“As long as it’s a wild boar, it’s fine. What happens if there's a car in front and you kill a child? »asks one of the judges. He notes half-heartedly. « Il (the wild boar) is not dead. »
For the court, it is not “absolutely not conscious”. “What I see is someone who only thinks about himself”insists the judge.
For his lawyer, “it’s in the management of his addiction that the problem lies”. Me Dubois-Dinan pleaded for a prison sentence which would “allows you to protect yourself” and who “is not a sentence of exclusion, but a period of personal reflection”.
The court sentenced him to eighteen months in prison, six of which were suspended on probation (i.e. one year), and a fine of €200. Eight months of suspended sentence, linked to his conviction in January 2024, were also revoked. The judges ordered his continued detention.
