After appearing on Monday November 18, 2024 without really giving satisfactory explanations on their actions during the dramatic night that led to Jordan's deathnor explain why they had decided to move the body the next eveningthe two defendants did not even come to hear the court's decision against them.

Facing a whole family in mourningthe trial had attempted to shed light on this dramatic night against a backdrop of alcohol and drugs that was fatal to Jordan.

Half a gram of heroin

That evening, in September 2023, Jordan, his morale at half mast since the suicide of his grandfather four months earlier, went to the home of Mickaël G. in Moréac, known dealer in the neighborhood. There he will drink alcohol and buy half a gram of heroin which he sniffs in the evening. Passed out on the couch, he appears to lose consciousness. Mickaël, thinking he is sleeping, goes to bed and will realize Jordan's death during the night. But don't warn anyone…

The court found that Jordan had contributed to his own manslaughter, due to his drug addiction and heart problems.

The next day with Jérôme S., the other defendant in this case, they spend the day next to Jordan's body before putting him in his car and parking it on a street in Bignan.

Prosecuted for manslaughter by clearly deliberate violation of an obligation of security or prudence, possession and acquisition of narcotics and offer or transfer of narcotics, Mickaël G. was sentenced by the judicial court this Monday, November 25, 2024 to three years in prison, two of which are suspended, with an obligation to provide care, to work and to compensate the victims.

Nearly €45,000 in damages for emotional harm

On this aspect, the court considered that Jordan had helped carry out his own homicide involuntary, due to his drug addiction and heart problems, and therefore decided to halve the sums requested by the family lawyer for “emotional harm » to the main defendant. He will therefore have to pay 12,500 euros to Jordan's father and mother, €4,000 to his two brothers and €10,000 to his partner. He will also have to pay to the latter, with whom he was in a civil partnership, nearly 140,000 euros for economic damageand pay half of the legal costs (€1,500). A referral on civil interests was also recorded in March 2025, to determine the compensation owed to Jordan's 12-year-old daughter.

Provisional execution

The court therefore estimated at 50% responsibility of the Moréac dealer . A difficult decision for Jordan's father to hear. “Yes, my son was a drug addict but hadn't been for four years since he met his new partner. He had relapsed once around the time of his grandfather's death. » And so a second time in September. A fatal relapse.

The sentences handed down were accompanied by provisional execution (therefore immediate). Like any sanction not exceeding one year, the one-year sentence will probably be reduced– especially since Mickaël has a job – for example with an electronic bracelet or a semi-liberty regime.

The other defendant, only prosecuted for moving the body, was sentenced to 8 months in prison.

The two defendants have 15 days to appeal.
