Since Saturday evening, powerful winds have been shaking the region. These strong gusts, announced by MétéoSuisse, are expected to continue until Monday, November 25 at 5:00 p.m., with peaks reaching 50 km/h around noon.
An exceptional weather situation
The gusts, regularly reaching 40 to 50 km/h, experienced more intense peaks during the morning and should peak around 12:00 p.m. before gradually decreasing at the end of the afternoon. According to MeteoSwiss, these powerful winds are typical of seasonal transition periods, where low pressure systems can affect the region.
Tips to keep you safe
In this context, it is strongly recommended to secure any object likely to be blown away by the wind. Here are some simple but effective measures:
- Securely secure your outdoor furniture (tables, chairs, parasols, etc.).
- Store your planters and light decorations.
- Avoid parking your vehicles under trees or near fragile structures.
Hikers and cyclists are also urged to exercise caution, particularly in forests and on exposed roads.
A return to calm this evening
According to MeteoSwiss forecasts, a calm is expected from the end of the afternoon. The winds should gradually weaken to give way to more stable weather. However, precipitation could still accompany the end of this windy episode.
