An auction in and on the Internet for the benefit of sea rescuers. Sport

Coming to support rescuers, this is the vocation of the Seatizens association (play on words in French, “citizens of the sea”) which is launching its second operation “A treasure à la carte”. The treasure is the one she hopes to raise for the benefit of SOS Méditerranée, the National Society for Sea Rescue (SNSM) and Navire Avenir, three organizations whose mission is sea rescue.

And the maps – marine in this case – are those that famous sailors signed and then offered to Seatizens so that artists could voluntarily transform these objects, close to the hearts of sailors, into works of art. Absolutely unique, they will be sold at auction, with the full amount of the sale going to these three major players in sea rescue.

Five years ago, €50,000 raised

Five years ago, during the first edition, some €50,000 was collected in this way; this time, the objective is obviously to do better and, to this end, there has been a lot of goodwill.

Thus Jean Le Cam, Armel Le Cléac'h, Isabelle Autissier, Francis Joyon, Justine Mettraux, Eugène Riguidel, Philippe Poupon, François Gabart and even Charlie Dalin have unearthed some of their cards. And artists such as Titouan Lamazou, Gildas Flahault, Philippe Druillet, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Speedy Graphito… have seized it.
It is already possible to discover the forty works created on the site tresor-carte.org and register to participate remotely in the sale.
They will be auctioned on December 3 at 7 p.m. in , at the Lafayette Anticipations Foundation (at 9, rue du Plâtre) but also online on the Drouot Live website. A generous operation which demonstrates once again that rescue at sea is at the heart of the concerns of all sailors.
