On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a fifty-year-old, confronted with harassment from her ex-partner, confided in our colleagues at West France. This resident of northern Maine-et-Loire has been living a real nightmare since her separation.
She thought she was freeing herself from a manipulator, but she inherited a stalker. A situation that she has suffered for six years now. Very quickly after the breakup, this woman realizes that her ex-partner follows her everywhere. In the street or in the supermarket, the man spies on each of these gestures. He became his shadow. A constant and disturbing presence from which she cannot escape.
The gendarmerie refuses his complaint
To relocate ? She tried it. But the next day, her stalker hangs around in front of her house. Petrified, she has her car and phone checked to verify that no surveillance device has been installed. In vain. Without other solutions and exhausted, she ended up filing a complaint.
Unfortunately, without concrete evidence, no prosecution is possible. She finally approached the SOS femmes 49 association, which gave her support, but not really any solutions. The fifty-year-old now lives day to day in fear of a possible act, trying to escape her pursuit as much as possible.
