Cœur de Savoie confirms its commitment to the “Territoire Engagé pour la Transition Écologique” program by obtaining 4 stars in the “Climat-Air-Energy” label, a distinction which highlights its efforts in favor of climate, energy and quality air.
The Cœur de Savoie community of communes was awarded, on November 19, 2024, the Climate-Air-Energy label with the 4-star distinction. This label, the French version of the European Energy Award label, evaluates communities on their energy management, their CO2 emissions and their air quality. After a hearing process in 2023, the national label commission welcomed a “promising” climate and energy policy. The distinction was awarded to Beatrice Santaispresident of the Community of Communes Cœur de Savoie, in the presence of Sylvain Wasermanpresident of ADEME, and Agnès Pannier-RunacherMinister of Ecological Transition, Energy, Climate and Risk Prevention
This award marks a significant step forward for Cœur de Savoie, which has doubled its score from 2 to 4 stars in just four years. Among the 778 French communities involved in the “Territoire Engagé pour la Transition Écologique” program, only 34 have reached this level of excellence. Heart of Savoie thus joins renowned metropolises such as Lyon, Grenoble or Strasbourg.
Béatrice Santais was delighted with this collective recognition, saying: “This distinction allows us to measure the progress we have made while reinforcing our ambition for the future. » Rémy Saint-Germain, Vice-President in charge of ecological transition, also underlined the importance of this tool for structuring transversal action and mobilizing other communities.
