The Macronist deputy for Gers, Jean-René Cazeneuve, was appointed President of the Supervisory Board of Caisse des Dépôts, a key institution for regional planning. This new function is added to a list of commitments which increasingly distance him from the realities and issues of the Gersoises and Gersois.
While Mr. Cazeneuve accumulates titles and makes a career in the Parisian spheres, our territory continues to suffer a worrying desertion of state commitments, and is still awaiting answers to real local issues: medical desertification, lack of mobility solutions and opening up, energy poverty, agricultural crisis, abandonment of our young people by the state. Essential and vital subjects which, visibly, do not find their place in his agenda.
Spokesperson for budget cuts and unjust reforms, is he really the right person to represent the interests of our territories? The Caisse des Dépôts, an institution supposed to embody solidarity and regional planning, risks being diverted for the benefit of projects that leave our countryside on the side of the road.
We have legitimate doubts: will he be able to defend the specific needs of a rural area like ours, which for years has embodied a centralized policy, often disconnected from local realities? Where is his concrete action for the Gers? Since 2017, what have his privileged relationships brought to the top of the State?
We, socialists from Gers, refuse to see our department relegated to second place, reduced to a simple adjustment variable in technocratic calculations. We demand actions, not titles or speeches.
The people of Gers deserve modern health infrastructure, access, investments in social housing, and a real ecological transition.
The people of Gers deserve better than an elected official who supports austerity policies, serving large companies and their shareholders, while pretending to defend their interests.
Mr. Cazeneuve, the greatness of an elected official is not measured by the seats you occupy in Paris, but by the services you provide to your territory. The Gers deserves a deputy who speaks loudly for his people, and not a manager of the injustices he suffers.
It is imperative to put the Gersoises back at the heart of your priorities. For our part, we will remain mobilized through the action of our municipalities, the department and the region, which you seek to weaken to absorb your budgetary excesses, and will ensure that the Gers is not forgotten, once again .
