Essonne: in Arpajon, the Artists of Vieux Châtre give color to life

The opening of the association's new exhibition took place on Saturday November 23 at the Francval space. The exhibition runs until Wednesday November 27.

This exhibition is the third organized by the association of Artists of Vieux Châtres this year. After a first exhibition in March, then a second in the space gardens in May, this is the traditional exhibition which concludes the year which began on Thursday November 21 and was therefore inaugurated on Saturday.

« This year we worked on the theme of colors, and through them feelings», Indicates Martine Stéphane, president. As the colors of autumn have just given way to the grayness of winter, the exhibition came at just the right time to bring some comfort to the hearts of visitors. The 31 artists of the association had hung 177 paintings on the walls of the exhibition room. These works presented a diversity of inspiration and style as wide as the number of participating artists. Paintings, mosaics, sculptures were present.

On the occasion of the opening, Martine Stéphane recalled that the association was above all a place where we came to relax, and if we worked seriously there, we also had a lot of fun. “We often laugh together“, she insists. So create, but without taking yourself seriously. A recipe which undoubtedly explains the success of the association which brings together 48 members today, from Arpajon of course, but also from neighboring towns.

Thierry Ficheux, deputy mayor, congratulated the association for the warm atmosphere that it always creates, and recalled that “create connections, human encounters”, was essential. Her colleague Caroline Tallec, delegated municipal councilor, thanked the artists “to open our horizons», with their works and to arouse beautiful emotions in the public.
