The fate of the two industrial metallurgy sites subcontracting to the automotive sector, Bogny-sur-Meuse and Vouziers in the Ardennes, is now known. The two Walor factories are taken over by the Forgex France group.
The only takeover offer made by Forgex was therefore accepted by the Sedan commercial court. It proposes the takeover of 48 employees and the dismissal of 30 employees for the Vouziers site. And the takeover of 53 employees and the dismissal of 72 employees for the Bogny-sur-Meuse factory.
“We are happy that the takeover has been made. But the employees of Bogny-sur-Meuse are unhappy with the social plan presented by the Walor group. They are still on strike to protest. Supra-legal compensation of 7,000 euros and 3,500 euros of training support measures and business creation have been proposed. This is not enough.assures union representative Fabien Pinçon.
However, the future of the company looks tough since the end of thermal engines in France will occur in 2035. “We need to diversify into other projects. Normally, Forgex comes for that”he continues.
This decision comes after a few months of tension and incomprehension for employees.
