According to our colleagues from L'Ardennais, a suspicious smell would have attracted the attention of the inhabitants of Nouzonville in the Ardennes department. Worried, local residents called emergency services who quickly intervened at a primary school in the city center.
This Sunday, residents of the neighborhood had indeed detected an unpleasant odor emanating from the school. The odors came more precisely from a vent in the boiler room of the establishment and escaped directly into the street.
A leak in the wastewater pipes
The firefighters therefore went to the school premises to identify the origin of the odor. It was while inspecting the premises that they realized that it came from leaks in the wastewater pipes. But their discovery did not stop there: they also noticed a major malfunction in the primary school's boiler.
Also, in order to welcome students in the best possible conditions this Monday, GRDF service teams mobilized to carry out the necessary repairs. A specialist company was also called in to put everything back in order and secure the premises before the children returned.
