Chloé, 14, tells the Ouest- editorial team in

“I was surprised that there was an editorial meeting every morning to talk about the day's newspaper. I really enjoyed following the journalist when he was in the field, as well as in the office. Both are very interesting, and I think it's important to see the various things you can do as a journalist.

I followed a journalist to the town hall for a press conference with two elected officials, to talk about school children who sleep on the street. This touched me a lot and I enjoyed listening to the different proposals from elected officials to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

I found it very interesting to meet the mother of a girl with a disability. She told us about her documentary and the association she created, with other mothers, to help people who need to find solutions.

I was surprised to learn that there were SRs (editorial secretaries) who, every day, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., reread, correct the articles and format the newspaper so that they can then send it out to print. »

“Being a journalist is a lot of work”

“I found that there was a very good atmosphere in the team.West and I would like to thank them for taking me on an internship, because it really allowed me to realize that this was the profession I would like to pursue.

I didn't necessarily realize it, but being a journalist is a lot of work, you always have to keep up to date with the news, be prepared to be called to get to the field as quickly as possible, etc.

I think we don't talk about them enough. We talk a lot about the news that we can see on the newspapers, on , or hear on the radio, but we almost never talk about those who bring us all this information. »
