Up to 2,500 homes without electricity due to wind in Nièvre, but few road disruptions

Strong gusts of wind on the Nièvre since Sunday evening, November 24, have resulted in the loss of electricity to up to 2,500 homes. Road disruptions are minimal.

As a result of the strong wind gusts observed since the evening of Sunday, November 24, up to 2,500 Nivernais households, or less than 2%, were deprived of electricity. At the end of the morning of Monday, November 25, Enedis only had 1,200 left. The places of disruption are “scattered”, indicates the manager of the electricity distribution network, citing in particular the north and south of Nivernais, the Luzy region and the upper Morvan.

Nièvre placed on yellow alert for rain, flooding and wind

The rescue and emergency services were alerted to a few falling trees on public roads. Particularly in Donzy, Decize, Livry, Saint-Éloi, Châteauneuf-Val-de-Bargis… These consequences of the weather did not cause major traffic difficulties on the national roads (7 and 151) and the A 77 , indicates the Interdepartmental Roads Directorate (Dir) Centre-Est.

On the train side, the SNCF canceled its intercity connections between Clermont-Ferrand and this Monday morning. On the other hand, traffic is assured between and , but the trains arrive a few minutes late, because their speed has been reduced to 70 km/h in places.
