A line of 3000 dancers, the traders of this commune of Aveyron are aiming for the world record of foot breaking held in Lozère

“Vivons Espalion”, the traders' association is launching a challenge: to beat the world record for participants in a footbreaker, established on August 15 by the village of Rieutort-de-Randon in Lozère.

A dance that closed parties, evenings, evenings… the breaker allowed everyone to dance together without the need for a rider and regardless of their age. All the people dancing stand in a line or circle, next to each other without joining hands. Hats on their heads, 2,812 dancers have set this record and Espalion aims to exceed this number!

Saturday December 14

The merchants' association, with the support of local partners, chose Saturday December 14, at 10:30 a.m., at the heart of the end-of-year festivities for an attempt that aims to be cheerful and friendly.

A collective challenge open to all: Espalionnais, traders, neighbors, residents of North Aveyron and elsewhere… A unique moment of which everyone will keep an unforgettable memory!

The rest of the day will allow everyone who wishes to look at the windows, make purchases in local shops and then enjoy the festive program put in place each year at this time.

An event which is also part of the 15 years of bilingualism, highlighting Occitan and our rich cultural heritage.

Everyone is invited to help beat this record

All visitors are welcome and everyone can help beat this record. No prior registration is required. Participants must simply show up on site at the indicated time, buy a hat (symbolic 1 euro) to allow the number of dancers to be counted and validated, and be ready to participate in this collective “Brise Pieds”.

The goal is to set up a long chain that would start at the top of Rue Droite and stretch to the ID parking lot, a continuous line of 3,000 dancers or more perhaps. In addition to its festive and unusual aspect, this moment will undoubtedly constitute a spotlight capable of energizing the city and more particularly its associations and its commerce.

So, don’t hesitate and save this date, for an unforgettable moment!
