Farmers are planning protests again this week. This Monday, November 25, around ten tractors and around thirty farmers are currently blocking a food logistics center in Brétigny-sur-Orge in Essonne.

According to Franceinfo, farmers have organized a filter barrier in front of the storage center and are blocking trucks containing food products of foreign origin.

They denounce the accumulation of standards in France and the free trade treaty with the countries of Mercosurdiscussed last week at the G20 in Brazil.

An agreement with Mercosur would cause unfair competition and cause prices to fall in France. Many farmers would go out of business within the next two years.

For its part, the Peasant Confederation plans a “punch action” in a supermarket in Etampes in Essonne at 10 a.m. this morning then a press conference at 10:30 a.m. The meeting is at the rue des Lys shopping center. A team from France 3 Ile-de-France will be on site.

In their leaflet, the union demands, among other things, “profitable agriculture“, “a healthy diet without pesticides or GMOs” and the preservation of agricultural land.
