Handball: five players from selected to play the Euro with the French team

It's official since this morning. Sébastien Gardillou, the new coach of the team, published the group selected to compete in the Women's Eurofrom Thursday in Switzerland, Hungary and Austria. Among the 19 players selected, five belong to Handball:

  • Left winger Chloé Valentini
  • Right wingers Laura Flippes and Lucie Granier
  • The pivot Sarah Bouktit
  • Center half Léna Grandveau

Several ex-Messines, Laura Glauser (FTC), Grâce Zaadi (Krim Ljubljana), Orlane Kanor (FTC), Tamara Horacek (Krim) and Hatadou Sako (Györ), are also retained.

The program

  • Thursday November 28 at 8:30 p.m.: France – Poland (in Basel)
  • Saturday November 30 at 6:00 p.m.: France – Spain (in Basel)
  • Monday December 2 at 8:30 p.m.: France – Portugal (in Basel)
  • The main round will take place, subject to qualification, in Debrecen (Hungary) on December 5, 6, 8 and 10
  • The final four will take place, subject to qualification, in Vienna (Austria) on December 14 and 15

France will have to finish 1st or 2nd in its preliminary round, it appears in group C, to be able to reach the main round. At this stage, the results will be cross-referenced with those of groups B, C, and D. The two best teams at the end of this second phase will compete in the semi-finals, the others will compete in the classification matches. The final will take place on December 15, in Vienna (Austria)
