On orange “wind” vigilance from this Sunday evening at midnight, the city of Lyon has decided to close all parks and cemeteries. The Place Carnot Christmas market will also be closed this Monday.
No mulled wine at the Lyon Christmas market this Monday, November 25. Due to the orange “wind” vigilance announced in the department by Météo France from midnight this Sunday evening, the city of Lyon has initially decided to close all of the city's parks and cemeteries. “From late Sunday afternoon, and especially from late night Monday morning, the wind picks up significantly and reaches 100-110 km/h (sometimes more on Monday)“, indicated Météo France in its bulletin.
“Due to strong winds exceeding 70 km/h, large parks and cemeteries are closed from 12 p.m. today as well as on Monday, November 25 all day“, announced the municipality.

To avoid any risk, the closure of the Place Carnot Christmas market has also been announced. “The Christmas Market, Place Carnot (2nd), will also be closed all day on Monday, November 25. Stay vigilant and careful when traveling.“The Christmas market will reopen for Tuesday, when the orange “wind” alert will be lifted in the department.
