socialist deputies will vote for repeal, even if it means sacrificing the Touraine reform

La insoumise will present in the hemicycle the removal of Élisabeth Borne's reform of March 2023 which raised the retirement age to 64 years. It also proposes reducing from 43 to 42 years the contribution period necessary to retire, a provision introduced during François Hollande's five-year term.

“I think that we must return to a legal age of 62 and that we must maintain the Touraine reform,” explained Boris Vallaud on the set of Political Questions on Sunday, saying his “attachment” to this reform “which is accompanied by measures on long careers and arduousness”.

“In the hemicycle, we will vote for the restoration of the Touraine reform”, via an amendment tabled by the Liot group, “but we will also vote, even if (the deletion) were to be maintained, the repeal of Madame Borne's reform” .

“We are going to win,” says Mathilde Panot

Questioned on BFMTV, the leader of the LFI deputies Mathilde Panot was confident about the outcome of Thursday's vote: “We are going to refuel and we will even win next Thursday,” she assured, while the entire left like the National Rally should support the bill: “It is a very, very powerful political signal which shows that it is possible to undo the policies of Macron and his world of misfortune. »

“And second thing – I hope that the Macronists will stick it in their heads – we cannot govern against the people, in particular by imposing a reform by force that no one wants,” she insisted.

If it were voted on Thursday, the repeal proposal should be included on the Senate agenda on January 23, on the occasion of a communist niche, then in second reading in the Assembly on February 6, this time in a niche dedicated to environmentalists.
