A call for donations to allow dogs seized from an illegal breeder in Mayotte to be adopted in

The Maéva association has launched a call for donations to allow eleven dogs seized from an illegal breeder to be adopted in . These animals had suffered mistreatment, the person responsible was sentenced to one year in prison.

The Maéva association is seeking funds to treat and take care of the eleven dogs saved by the gendarmerie from an illegal breeder. This follows the opening of an investigation by the anti-gang division and the Mamoudzou research section at the end of September. “Gangs of criminals regularly use dogs to commit thefts and attacks. Dog fights are also organized“, specifies the gendarmerie.

On November 13, an operation was organized in Majicavo-Dubai. A man is arrested with his home, “13 dogs living in deplorable conditions, without water or food“, some of whom were mutilated and injured. One of them was also stolen in 2018. The man was sentenced on November 15 in immediate appearance to one year in prison, with a committal warrant.

To avoid euthanasia, the animals were taken in by the Maéva association. Each of the eleven dogs is the subject of a presentation on its Facebook page, to call on Internet users to sponsor them. This is a minimum donation of 50 euros, in exchange for the possibility of choosing the dog's name. The association is also looking for host families to welcome them before their departure to France, scheduled by freight on Sunday December 1st.
