Women's French Cup (first federal round). CPB Brequigny (D3) – FC Lorient (R1): 0-0 (5-6 in the tabs)
The cries of joy of the Lorientaises must have resonated well beyond the confines of CPB Bréquigny on Sunday, at the end of a long successful penalty shootout. Hierarchically inferior, the Morbihannaises entered this Coupe de France match without complexes, even dominating the debates in the first quarter of an hour of play. If the game was then balanced, the draw was logical at the break
Returning from the locker room, the Bretillians picked up the pace, in particular thanks to the entry at the hour mark of their attacker who usually starts in D3, Ahamada. But neither she, despite a post for one of her first balls (60'), nor her accomplices in the attack managed to find the fault in the solid defense of FC Lorient, well managed by goalkeeper Pocquet. The outcome of the match was therefore decided on penalties and after two misses on each side, FC Lorient scored six consecutive attempts and won this first federal round of the Coupe de France, against all expectations. In the next round, the Lorientaises will meet the Costarmoricanes of Plérin.
