Zelensky warns of the risks of spreading the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in Africa

During a press conference bringing together foreign journalists, particularly from Africa and Latin America, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his concerns about the potential repercussions of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on the African continent.

Thus, in a post published on his Tweeter platform, the Ukrainian head of state sounded the alarm: “The risk of seeing the conflict spread to other regions, particularly in Africa, is real. Russian forces, like Wagner’s mercenaries, are already destabilizing parts of the continent, exploiting resources and stoking tensions. This is a time bomb that could trigger new crises,” reports Dakaractu.

Zelensky also spoke of the strengths of the African continent. According to him, the exploitation of vast natural resources, the financial opportunities and the political influence that Russia seeks to exert there constitute a major threat to regional stability.

“Africa, with its vast resources and strategic importance, remains a key target for Russian exploitation. Whether through its natural resources or its political influence, the continent’s size and number of nations make it a critical focus of Russia’s destabilization agenda.,” he warned the media.
