the essential
Three men are on trial before the Haute-Garonne Assize Court for three armed robberies in jewelry stores in Mazamet in the south of Tarn, , and at a La Poste office in Launaguet.

“When I entered the store, after asking for the door to be opened, I saw the saleswomen in panic. I understood that something abnormal was happening, opposite, in a jewelry store. ” At the helm of the Haute-Garonne Assize Court, the memories of this witness who has become very active follow one another. “As I was going out to look, two men left the jewelry store. Each went in one direction. I followed one, who was carrying a small backpack.”

Without panicking, this real estate agent looked for reinforcement, only encountered worried people, but continued to follow the man who was walking away at a rapid pace “in the small streets around the Place Saint- Georges”, remembers the witness, physically strong. The discreet surveillance, with the police live on the cell phone, continued as far as Saint-Aubin. “The man sat in a cafe. The police arrived. He wanted to run away. They 'have stopped.”

In the backpack thrown hastily under a car before the arrest, jewelry and watches stolen a few minutes earlier were found. “According to the jeweler, forty stolen pieces were still missing,” explains Valérie Noël, the president. The magistrate took the opportunity to thank the witness. “Such courage is quite rare. It must be emphasized.” The man leaves, more relaxed.

The robbers forget their weapon!

In the box, a man observes him. This morning of Saturday March 11, 2017, he left on the other side. Judicial police investigators were quick to track him down. With his accomplice who was quickly arrested, they also robbed a jewelry store in Mazamet on February 11, 2017, and attempted to steal the cash register from the Launaguet Post Office on March 4, 2017. But they found themselves stuck in the airlock with an employee screaming in fear in the face of these armed and hooded individuals. They ran away, forgetting the magazine of a fake automatic weapon.

There remains the case of Gary M, 38 years old, presented by one of the accused as the person who gave “the blows”.

“Absolutely not”, defends this inserted man, defended vigilantly by Messrs Clémence Doumenc and Caroline Barbot-Lafitte.

The jurors, three women and three men, follow the particular adventures of this trio far removed from the standards of organized crime even if Kiegnieman, already known for this type of crime, reoffended in after his release on parole! He remains the only one of the trio to still be incarcerated. The verdict is expected Tuesday.
