new fire chief of Auneuil, Christophe Wawrzyniak wants to “relaunch the JSP”

At 51, Christophe Wawrzyniak is having his very first experience as head of a rescue center in Auneuil south of (Oise), after 28 years in the ranks of the firefighters. And yet, “I was not destined to become a firefighter, tells us the native of Boulogne-sur-Mer who holds a DEUG in marine biology. It's true that it's a job that I really liked and that I had in mind, but I was neither a young firefighter (JSP) nor a volunteer. »

But while he is in his second year of studies, he learns that the chances of becoming a biology teacher are reduced with the quotas in place. Christophe Wawrzyniak then turned to the profession of firefighter “because it’s the only one that suited me, in my sense that it moves and that it’s sporty”.

He then passed a competitive exam in but completed his L2 before joining the fire service, from his military service where he joined the fire brigade, first passing through Villeneuve-Saint- Georges, and finally . The big crown in summary, before Beauvais where he was hired.

“I stayed there for 17 years, going from sapper to adjutant”but also as a diver and then specialized in chemical and radiological risks. His areas of predilection. Christophe Wawrzyniak then joined -en-Vexin for five years, being appointed assistant to the center manager, before going to Tillé for a year and returning to Beauvais “as a duty officer with 12 firefighters under my command”.

“I am ambitious for Auneuil”

Today, there are around fifty in Auneuil with 46 volunteers, including eight women. The new head of the rescue center therefore arrived on September 2 with several strings to his bow, having experienced the field and the administrative side.

“I am ambitious for Auneuil, lance Christophe Wawrzyniak. I have done a lot in my career and I want to use my skills and knowledge for a barracks by passing on my experience. »

As a good “father of the family”, he wants maintain the family state of mind that Franck Lequien (promoted to captain) “had begun to create” while improving the daily lives of firefighters, with a refresh of the barracks, and by working with the municipality.

Especially since a project is close to his heart: relaunching young firefighters. “This brings a lot to a fire station and I already have firefighters who are willing to support me in this process. It's great! »rejoices the head of the center. All that’s missing is volunteers and training them.


The rescue center is recruiting

Speaking of volunteering, you can get involved even if you have a job: a so-called availability agreement can be signed with your employer in order to best reconcile your professional life and your commitment as an SPV.

In addition, there is now a differentiated commitment which consists of carrying out not all of the missions but mainly emergency assistance to people and various operations. Commitment to all missions is still possible.
