Six months later, the radars are once again the target of attacks in the region of Flers (Orne). Sawed and tagged in the past, this time it is by a fire that the devices were neutralized in Montilly-sur-Noireau and Caligny, on the night of Friday the 22nd au Saturday November 23, 2024.
While the landscape was still covered in a thick layer of snow, one of the two radars on fire was photographed by a motorist, on the axis linking Flers to Condé-en-Normandie (Calvados).
Isolated acts or new series of attacks on radars?
“I came by at 2:30 a.m. on my way home from the evening, and they were coming right now to set fire to the radar,” says the witness who claims to have “seen no one.” According to him, the Montilly fixed radar was vandalized first.
They must have set fire to the Caligny radar afterwards because I came from that place and the radar was intact.
New series or chance of the calendar? In the department of Calvadosat least one other device was burned: that of Chênedollé, between Vire Normandie and Vassy.
Other radars are spared for the moment and always flash around Flers: the turrets of Frênes and La Ferrière-aux-Étangs, as well as that of construction site installed between Le Châtellier and Messei.
