Since 2015, the Miss France crown has often worn a candidate wearing the colors of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. After Camille Cerf in 2015, Iris Mittenaere in 2016, Maëva Coucke in 2018 and Eve Gilleswill the current title holder, Sabah Aib, be Miss France 2025?
One thing is certain: the 18-year-old young woman has already caught the eye of the French. A native of Besançon, she arrived in Valenciennes at the age of 5. His father, of Algerian origin, and his Moroccan mother gave him a first name which, in Arabic, means “dawn”.
Second year law student, Sabah Aib spoke about her studies to our colleagues at La Voix du Nord: “I am a very empathetic person, who hates injustice. I am studying family law,” she says.
Mobilized against hatred and harassment
Passionate about dance, the young woman wants to act against harassment. Just after her election in her region, she suffered a campaign of racism, spread via social networks.
She responded with great firmness by posting a photo and this comment on Instagram: “My name is part of my identity and it has nothing to do with my nationality. France is a multicultural country and having a name that comes from elsewhere in no way changes the fact that I am French.”

For Anne-Sophie Sevrette, the Miss France regional delegate for Nord Pas-de-Calais, Sabah is a little nugget and a symbol of hope: “ If the French open up, Sabah could be the first Miss France with North African origins. It never happened, it would finally open minds. The message would be strong. »
